In Massachusetts, all asbestos specifications and plans must be prepared by a Massachusetts project designer, this includes preparing the asbestos abatement portion of a specification that is going out to bid, either publicly or privately, work plans required for all work to be completed in K-12 public and private nonprofit schools, and NT plans.

 

Eastern Environmental can provide bidding specifications as either part of a bid package or as a stand-alone document with the client providing the general terms and conditions (payment, insurance, bonding, etc.).

 

AHERA plans for schools can be prepared for all sizes of abatement jobs. AHERA requires plans for all abatement projects in schools over 3 square or 3 linear feet. Eastern Environmental can also manage the required submittal process with MA Department of Labor Standards for projects where students will be present in the school.

 

NT plans are required by MA Department of Environmental Protection in certain situations where asbestos may not be removed using the normal permitting process. These include situations where asbestos was improperly disturbed or where a natural occurrence such as fire causes damage. Eastern Environmental is experienced in this process from the initial assessment, preparation of the required plan, managing the MA DEP submittal and review process, and providing any required project monitoring.
